Joke...

Why is there nothing funnier than a "clean" poop joke?

Is it just me, or is it funnier in Spanish?

Stagnation...

Why do we dislike change so much?

If water is to sit in a pool or stand for a long period of time, and is unable to run and move about, it becomes an environmental hazard, and a breeding ground for mosquitos. A habitat where bacteria and parasites fester. Sounds pretty gross, huh?

Isn't this true in our own lives... if we choose to stand in the wake of change and say "NO WAY! I ain't budging" it opens up all kinds of avenues where we are no longer available for what God has in store for us each and everyday. We are no longer challenging ourselves and facing our fears...

Let's all be willing to change!

Too busy...

If you participated in the last post...there are some interesting implications into our everyday life. Sometime we get so busy we don't see what is right in front of us. When my wife an I got married we had a verse in the bible that we wanted our lives, family and marriage to be characterized by. It was this:

Psalm 46:10 (NASB)
10"Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

Other translations use "Be still", but I like this wording better. Most of the time we fail horribly at this and don't take the time to just be still before our God. But we all need reminders, right? To cease striving at the things in our life that so easily distract and entangle us, and remember all that HE is and all that we are not! Good stuff!

Passing the rock...

Ok, here is the deal. Have you ever received the email where someone sends you a note and tells you to count the number of "f"s in a paragraph and inevitably you forget to count the "f"s in the word "of"... This is similar concept...so don't cheat.
First, you must follow the rules. This is step 1. Watch the short video in the first link below. In the video you will see a group of basketball players, some in white and some in black passing two balls around.
Your goal is to count how many times the ball is passed by those wearing white shirts. It's that simple. Remember, only count the passes of the ball by those wearing white and only white. Once the movie is over, write down the number of passes you have counted, Do not watch the video again - proceed to step 2.
Step 1: http://viscog.beckman.uiuc.edu/grafs/demos/15.html

Step 2: After watching the video, enter your results on this website. http://free.mailinfo.com/web/reality/step2.htm
Enjoy!

Today...

...I decided to enter the world of blogging. My wife has been the sole author our family blog with flying colors for the past 9 months so I thought I'd give it a shot -- and start my own. I don't really know what this blog will look like, nor do I particularly want to know, but it will be an adventure!
Here's to my first post.
